This was one of the rare times I walked into a podcast and felt a genuine sense of relief. Sunaina Roshan, sister of Hrithik Roshan and daughter of the great Rakesh Roshan, began her nutrition journey with us back in March 2024. Since June 2001, she has battled several major, life-threatening health conditions, including a rare form of cancer, brain tuberculosis, jaundice, and fatty liver. You might know how scary it is, but the first step in all this would be to start the right medication, and after controlling the medical problems, a healthy diet is important, which is when she came to us.
After a year of ongoing consultations and working closely with one of our nutritionists, she returned feeling nearly back to 100%. She shared that our personalized nutrition plan made the biggest difference in her recovery. Below you will find a handful of key moments that had me feeling proud, but if you want to watch the full episode, click here!
Everything That Happened on Health Shotz This Week
It’s not often that I get the opportunity to have in-depth, on-the-record conversations with clients about how their treatment journey has unfolded. This one, however, stands out as a significant milestone, a green checkmark on a box that symbolizes something much deeper. My team and I had the privilege of helping someone take control of life-threatening health concerns, and that’s something I’ll always be proud of.
In this conversation with Sunaina Roshan, we explored some deeply personal and important topics, many of which are common questions people have when considering a nutritional plan. We spoke about what sparked her motivation to make healthier choices, the first signs of change she noticed in her health, and so much more.
Mantra For A Strong Mindset
We all understand that facing a medical condition, especially a life-threatening one, demands immense mental strength. Sunaina Roshan embodied this strength with grace and resilience. A true bundle of joy, she confronted her challenges head-on, always with a smile.
She knew no one else could fight this battle for her. So, she chose to face it with unwavering positivity. That smile wasn’t just for the world; it was her way of staying strong and staying present. It helped her shift focus from the pain to moments of meaning.
One such moment remains etched in her memory: the final 10 minutes of her chemotherapy. Until that point, she had never shed a tear during her entire cancer journey. As the doctor stepped in to check on her chemo drip one last time, everything seemed routine. But as he stepped out, he suddenly heard her cry for the first time. Alarmed, he rushed back in, concerned something had gone wrong. When he asked her what had happened, she looked up, eyes full of emotion, and simply said, “It’s the last 10 minutes.”
In that moment, her tears weren’t of pain, but of release, a culmination of strength, courage, and the silent battles she had fought with a smile.
First Sign of Change
A lot of clients come up to me just a few days into their program and say, “Hey Ryan, the diet doesn’t seem to be doing what you said it would.” And I get it, but here’s the truth: it’s just like starting at the gym. You don’t walk in on day one and expect to see results by day three. Real change takes time, consistency, and commitment.
The same applies to your diet. You have to ease into it, find your rhythm, and stick with it. Results come from showing up every day, even when you don’t see immediate progress. Over time, that effort compounds, and suddenly, you’re healthier, stronger, and feeling better than ever.
I’ll never forget what Sunaina Roshan told me when I asked her, “When did you start noticing the difference?” Her answer surprised me. She said she never waited to feel it; she simply believed it would work. That mindset, that belief, was what carried her through.
And today, that belief has paid off. We've successfully helped her get her gut health under control. Now, she’s simply following a maintenance diet plan with us, focused on strengthening her gut lining even further.
Turning back the time
We all know the world can be tough, demanding careers, emotional ups and downs, and the pressure to keep up with it all. But have you ever wished you could go back in time and give your younger self a piece of advice? I asked Sunaina Roshan that very question, and her answer was both simple and profound: “Eat healthy and train more. If you don’t do it now, it will catch up with you later in the form of serious health issues.” I couldn’t agree more.
When we’re young, we often feel untouchable, like illness and fatigue are problems for “later.” But the truth is, later comes faster than we think. And by then, the cost of ignoring our health can be high. Health isn’t just something to fix when it breaks, it’s something to invest in, protect, and nurture long before we feel its absence.
That’s a belief I live by, and it’s one I’ve already begun passing on to my son.
Building a strong foundation early isn’t just smart; it’s life-changing. Without giving too much away, this episode of Health Shotz is one I sincerely want you to watch. Sunaina and I dive into some deeply personal and powerful topics that will leave you thinking differently about food, fitness, and what it means to truly care for yourself. It’s more than a conversation; it’s a wake-up call.
This episode is especially for those who’ve put their health on the back burner, the ones who keep saying, “I’ll start tomorrow.” Because the truth is, the sooner you start, the better your chances of not just living longer, but living better.
So here’s my message to you: trust the process. Prioritize yourself. And know that if you ever need support, my team of expert nutritionists and I are here, ready to walk this journey with you, one healthy step at a time.
