Some sporting achievements are special because of the medal. Others are special because of everything that has gone into earning it.

Today, I want to congratulate Joshna Chinappa on winning a Bronze Medal for India at the Asian Games. Watching her continue to compete at the highest level and represent India with the same determination makes this moment incredibly special.

Joshna's journey is one that I have had the privilege of witnessing closely for many years. Our association goes back more than 15 years, to a time when she was a young athlete at the Chennai Squash Academy. What started with conversations around nutrition gradually became a long-term relationship built around performance, recovery, consistency and longevity.

Recently, I had the opportunity to sit down with Joshna for my podcast, and it was one of those conversations that reminded me why sport is so much more than what we see on the scoreboard.

We spoke about her early days in squash, the challenges she faced, her ACL injury in 2011, rebuilding herself from the ground up, travelling around the world for tournaments, recovery, training, mental resilience and the discipline required to keep going year after year.

One of the things that stayed with me was how seriously Joshna has approached the fundamentals throughout her career. She spoke about having the right people around her, understanding her body, staying consistent with her routine and giving nutrition the importance it deserves. She even spoke about how the lessons she learnt about nutrition years ago have stayed with her throughout her career.

That is what makes this Bronze Medal even more meaningful for me.

As a nutritionist, you don't always get to see the outcome of your work immediately. Sometimes it is years of small decisions, adjustments and conversations that eventually become part of an athlete's journey. Seeing Joshna still competing, still pushing herself and now adding another international medal to her career is something that makes me incredibly proud.

Priya Sankhadasariya, who has also been part of Joshna's nutrition journey with us, and the entire Qua Nutrition team are extremely proud of this achievement. It is a reminder of why we do what we do every day.

Joshna's story also reinforces something I have always believed: longevity in sport isn't built through one big decision. It is built through the choices you make every day. Training, recovery, nutrition, discipline and resilience all have to come together.

And when we spoke about what an athlete should prioritise, Joshna made an important point about getting the fundamentals of nutrition right. Before anything else, your body needs to have the foundation to perform, recover and keep going.

Congratulations once again, Joshna. From those early days at the squash academy to standing on an international podium, it has been an incredible journey to witness.

You have made India proud, and we at Qua Nutrition are proud to have played a small part in your journey.

If Joshna's journey has shown us anything, it is that nutrition is not an afterthought in performance. It is part of the foundation.
