Roasted Makhana (Fox Nuts)
A light, crunchy, and nutrient-dense snack rich in antioxidants, protein, and fibre, perfect for a healthy, guilt-free treat.

Ingredients:
2 cups makhana (fox nuts)
1 tablespoon ghee or olive oil
1 teaspoon turmeric powder (optional)
1 teaspoon black pepper or red chili powder
Salt to taste
Instructions:
Heat the Pan: Place a heavy-bottom pan or kadai on medium heat.
Roast the Makhana: Add ghee or olive oil to the pan. Once warm, add the makhana and roast on low–medium heat.
Season the Makhana: Sprinkle turmeric powder, black pepper or chili powder, and salt. Toss well so the spices coat the makhana evenly.
Cook Until Crisp: Continue roasting for 6–8 minutes, stirring frequently until the makhana turn light, crunchy, and slightly golden.
Serve: Remove from heat and let them cool slightly. Serve warm as a crunchy snack or store in an airtight container.
