Is Social Media Making Your Child STUPID? Karnataka Social Media Ban Plan

Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah proposed a social media ban for children under 16 in the state Budget 2025 — and as a father and nutritionist, I had to share my honest reaction.

Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah proposed a social media ban for children under 16 in the state Budget 2025 — and as a father and nutritionist, I had to share my honest reaction.

⚠️ *Disclaimer:* This is NOT a news video. The Karnataka government has proposed this ban — it has not been officially passed or implemented yet. This video is purely my personal reaction and opinion as a father, a nutritionist, and someone who works with children's health every single day. I support the intent behind this proposal wholeheartedly.  As a dad, I see it firsthand. Phones, tablets, Reels, Shorts, our kids are hooked. And the science backs up what we're all feeling but not saying loud enough.  In this video, I break down:

  • Why this Karnataka proposal is a step in the right direction

  • What dopamine and short-form content are doing to your child's developing brain

  • The real data on how social media affects reading, memory, sleep, and physical health

  • Why zero notifications = deeper focus (and what science says about it)

  • Why I — someone who built his career on social media — still fully support this ban for under-16s

. 💬 What do YOU think about Karnataka's proposal? Should every Indian state follow? Drop your thoughts in the comments — I read every single one.
