Guide To Healthy Party Snacks For The Weekend

Even when it comes to party munchies, unwinding during the weekend doesn’t have to mean abandoning the good eating choices you’ve been striving to make. Healthy snacks with a decent mix of calorie intake and nutrition have made their way into the party spread.

Here’s a sample of some of them.

Healthy Dips

One of the healthiest dips you’ll discover at a party is hummus! Each component has its own set of health benefits; olive oil provides us with some healthy fats, while chickpeas and sesame paste are also beneficial.

Chickpeas are an excellent vegetarian protein source. One cup has about 270 calories, so it’s not exactly low in calories; however, it does have some good qualities, such as supplying 27 percent of our daily protein need and about 12.5 gms of fiber – about half of what we need! In addition, this fiber is insoluble, which is essential for gut health.

Sesame seeds are high in copper, as well as a variety of other vitamins and minerals like selenium, zinc, phosphorus, iron, magnesium, calcium. They also include fiber and other chemicals that can help to lower harmful cholesterol levels (LDL).

Phytonutrients, which are plant pigments that work as antioxidants in human bodies, are abundant in both sesame and chickpeas.

When you dip carrot sticks in hummus, you get the added antioxidant effect of beta-carotene, a phytonutrient found in carrots.

Nuts

1] Cashews

Cashews provide about 221 calories per 1/4 cup. Cashews contain healthy fats similar to those found in olive oil. Copper, phosphorous, iron, magnesium, and zinc are all abundant in them, and they serve a variety of purposes in human bodies.

2] Almonds

Almonds provide about 140 calories per 1/4 cup. Almonds have the highest fiber and vitamin E of all the nuts. They are especially beneficial for persons who are concerned about their blood sugar levels because they appear to reduce insulin resistance.

3] Peanuts

Peanuts provide 207 calories per 1/4 cup. Peanuts are high in biotin, which is necessary for hair structure, as well as vitamin E, which protects hair and skin from the sun. It also contains resveratrol, an antioxidant best known for its presence in red wine.

Bruschetta

If you are one who likes to explore different cuisines and your taste buds are up for some Italian delight then Bruschetta is for you.

Bruschetta is a favorite appetizer at gatherings, owing to its ease of preparation – which is fortunate, because it’s also very healthy!

While the calorie count varies depending on the size of the pieces, one should be between 40-70 calories.

But, as you might expect, it’s the toppings that make this appetizer so healthful. Tomatoes contain lycopene, a carotenoid that protects the skin from the sun’s anti-ageing effects by combating free radicals.

Bruchettas typically include garlic and onion, both of which contain a number of heart-healthy chemicals. They include phytonutrients called flavonoids, which have been shown to lessen cancer risk, lower blood sugar levels, and promote bone health in addition to free radicals.

While party snacks can be nutritious, they must be consumed in moderation to be considered a healthy option. Remember these suggestions, and have a wonderful, healthy weekend!
